Cumberland triple-six comp on 16 May 2024

 Shotgun starts from 15th hole: Partner with Ken Siow in cart along with Michael and Vincent. Relatively wet ground  condition. Handicap 16. Hole 15: Driver shot went right. Second shot with 6 irons cleared the trees and landed near the fringe. 2 putted for par. 3 Hole 16:  Used 8 irons and landed 4m right of pin. 2 putted for par.  5 Hole 17: Used hybrid and landed on right side of the fairway. Pw shot not clean enough and thus landed on bunker in front. But bunker not in play. 3 putted. Missed one foot putt for double boogie. 6 Hole 18: Driver draw left behind tree line. Used 5 irons 3rd shot to land 90 m from pin. Poorly executed pitching shot caused ball to go left and landed in bunker. 5 shot on. Double boogie. 7 Hole 1:  5 irons shot was mishit and went right into the wood. (Due to trying to preset the hip)2nd shot went too much into long rough. Poor pitching shots. Fifth shot on. Wipe.7 Hole 2: Fade driver shot. Second shot with 5 iron went quite well too on left side of fairway

Foxhill Practice on 22 March 2023

 Morning, cloudy: Handicap 16 Hole 1: Solid hybrid, 50 deg wedge was short. wedge shot and putt. par 3 Hole 2: Driver fade shot, but sliced. used 8 iron but top it due to rough/ slight slope. Poor wedge shot to just before green. Good chip to 0.2 m. Bogey Hole 3: 9 iron to 124m on. 5m putt. Par Hole 4: poor 5 iron. sliced it. Hit  soft 9 iron, resulting in ball 60m from pin. Poor wedge shot land 3 m before green. Poor chip due to rough. Double bogey Hole 5: Hit 6 iron to 10m right of green. Over hit chip . Bogey Hole 6: Slice hybrid shot. 7 iron shot landed on bunker beside the green. Poor sand wedge shot. poor chip.  Double bogey Hole 7: Poor 5 iron that went to right , behind tree. Hit high 8 iron shot to land a metre before green. Good 25m chip to 1.5m of flag. Par Hole 8 is par 3. Used 50 deg wedge to about 2.5m of flag. 2022 November 3 Comp in Foxhill

 I have not been playing well in the last 2 months. Had problem with skying driver, shanking and big hook with hybrid. All these put to rest today at Foxhill, as I played with Ken Siow and David Chew. Before that; I planned to hit iron using cut shot., i.e. from out to in. This is to mitigate the shanking problem. Also, there will be 2 stage back swing. Try to keep  backswing short and simple. Hole 1: Driver shot went left behind trees, but not too bad. Second shot with pw went too much right. Third pitch shot rolled too much down the slope. Had a bogey Hole 2: Driver shot still bad , went left.  Second shot with 5 iron went intl left bunker. Ecelemt sand shot to just about 40cm  of hole. Miss simple put for bogey Hole 3: Used 8 iron. Can't find the ball. Suspect that it went over, and into water. Wipe Hole 4: Used 6 iron. Laid up. Chip/pitch just short of green. Cumberland practice on Friday 12 August 2022

Weather was cold, cloudy but ground was rather soft. P_layed with Ket, Alex and David tan. Hole 1: Poor hybrid first tee that goes into the tree area on right. Must be the lack of warming up. Managed to get bogey due to good chip and putt. Hole 2: Tee off with hybrid for good position on left side. But second shot with hybrid  was mishit. Third shot with hybrid  just went into water on left side. Wipe Hole 3: 6 iron tee shot did not have good contact. About 15 m short. Rather poor chip. Bogey Hole 4: Poor driver shot that hit tree on right. Fourth shot with 8 iron was 4 m from pin. Bogey Hole 5: 6 iron t shot went left of green. Good chip and putt. Par Hole 6: Driver short went sliced far right into trees. Second shot hit tree as i went for risky shot. Wipe Hole 7: Driver shot went slight left but far. Didn't feel good about it, but outcome was good. Excellent second shot to about 2.5m of pin. Par Hole 8: Good driver shot (turned right hip). Good 6 iron shot to about 6 m from green

Foxhill practice o Monday 8 August 2022

 Played with George and Harry this morning starting around 730 am: Has 11 par. Hole 1: Hybrid shot was solid, hit slope and rolled down. Second shot was rather poor. Blade the chip. Wipe 2: Tee shot hit tree on left. Second shot with 6 iron went into bunker.  Double boogie 3. 8 iron shot on. Par 4. Tee-off with hybrid. Second shot with PW was on. Par. 5. 7 iron shot went just right of the green. Putted instead of chiped the shot. Par. 6: Tee shot with hybrid went into adjacent right fairway. 8 iron short of bunker, under tree. Bogey 7. Hybrid tee-shot, followed by 8 iron that went into right bunker. Hit good bunker shot to less than 1 m of hole. Miss putt. Bogey 8. Good t short with driver. second shot with 8 iron was on. Par 9. Draw shot with driver. Second shot with 5 iron just short of green. Chipped to 2.5 m away.  Putted for par. 10. Driver shot went right. Used six iron to 100 m. PW shot was just short. Cumberland practice on Friday 14 January 2022

 Where: Cumberland Time:  730 am  Played with: Eric, Choon and ket Course condition: Ground still quite wet after heavy rain in previous day Performance ( 1(terrible)  to 5  ):  4 Score:  19 for 9 holes Bad: chipping was bad, especially from rough. Positive: Driving was near perfect in term of accuracy Lesson learn:   Improve on chipping from rough. Practice: Hole 1 : Tee to rough on left, second shot landed close to green. Poor chip to 3m away from pin for bogey Hole 2; Tee to fairway, but poor hybrid shot to left side. Hit tree in third shot. Lost ball in fourth shot with hybrid  Hole 3: Solid hybrid shot that hit above the left bunker. Duff chip in rough on severe slope. Double bogey Hole 4: Good tee and second shot with hybrid. Third shot on downhill slope was bad. Poor airm probably as ball went right of tree. Pitch shot 4 on. Bogey Hole 5: Bunker with 6 iron. Second shot from bunker poorly executed but result was OK. Foxhill Competition on 11 January 2022

 Where: Fox Hill Time: 650 AM Played with: Richard, Chen and George Wong Course condition: fine but very humid. Bunker not in play Performance ( 1(terrible)  to 5  ):   4 Started from 10th hole: 10th :  Good drive. Second shot with hybrid went into water. Poor connection. Double boogie 1 11th: Hybrid shot to right, just before bunker but with poor downhill lie. Second shot went into bunker. Double boogie 2 12th: Driver shot went slight right, along tree line. Poor hybrid shot in heavy rough. Lucly pitching shot with pw (30-40m) , to hit flag pole and stop within  1 foot of hole. Bogey 4 13th: Driver shot was straight and landed about 150 m from flag.   Hybrid shot too much to left and hit tree branches, but landed safely. PW shot was over. Bogey 6 14th: Reasonable drive and second shot with iron to green but flag is 6 m away. Poor putting for bogey 8 15th: Poor PW shot to land in front of bunker. Chip from rough not good enough.
